Learn Computer Basics:

Increasing the amount of memory in a compute the most effective upgrade you can perform. Doubling the existing memory in a computer can significantly increase the performance of the computer.

Ergonomics is the science of designing and arranging equipment for a safe and comfortable working environment. Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs), such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, are a common ailment of cQmputer users. RSIs can be caused by performing the same movement over and over, working in an awkward position, holding the same position for a long time and not taking adequate rest breaks, RSI symptoms can include numbness, tingling and pain. When working at a computer, you should frequently take breaks to improve blood circulation and minimize eyestrain. After each hour of work, you should stand up, move around and stretch your arms and legs. To rest your eyes, YOU should regularly close them and cover them with your hands for about ten seconds. You should also regularly look away from your monitor and focus on a distant object. When working at a computer, improper positioning can cause neck, shoulder, back, elbow and wrist pain as well as headaches and eyestrain.

You can reduce the glare from overhead lighting and from bright windows in many ways. First, do not place your monitor in front of a bright window. You may also want to close the curtains or blinds. To further minimize glare, you can also adjust a monitor?s controls to a suitable brightness level as well as adjust the angle of a monitor by tilting the monitor up, down, left or right, If you still experience problems with glare, consider an anti-glare filter that fits over the front of a monitor.

Introduction to Computers You should ensure that pc is properly positioned. The top of a monitor should be at eye level or slightly lower. You can use a monitor stand or book to raise a monitor to the appropriate height. Center a monitor directly in front of you and above the keyboard. Position a monitor at least one arm?s length away. Position documents you are working with directly in front of you or close to the monitor. You can use a document holder to better position documents. You can avoid back strain by using a fully adjustable chair that provides proper support. Push your hips as far back as you can in the chair. Do not lean forward or slouch. Make sure your upper and lower back are supported. Use cushions or small pillows if necessary. Keep your shoulders relaxed. Your knees should be even with or slightly lower than your hips. Make sure your feet are flat on the floor. You may need to use a footrest.
